Program
CAW Safeguard Emergency Notifications is an internal emergency alerting program operated by Central Alabama Water (CAW) for CAW employees who have opted in.
Message types
By opting in you may receive text messages including:
- Emergency alerts and incident notifications
- Safety advisories
- Drills and test messages
- Acknowledgement and follow-up messages related to the above
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on operational events. Most periods have no messages; during an incident you may receive several messages in a short window.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. CAW does not charge for the messages, but your wireless carrier's standard rates apply. Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of employment.
Opting out
You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any CAW Safeguard text message. You can also disable the SMS channel from your profile settings within the CAW Safe app while keeping voice or email alerts active. After opting out you will receive a single confirmation message.
Help
For help, reply HELP to any CAW Safeguard text message, or contact CAW IT support at businessops@caw-al.gov.
Carriers
Supported on major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for how phone numbers and consent records are handled. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never shared with third parties for marketing.
